THE WORK OF ART

This month’s session will be led by specialty artist tax preparer, Janet Ecklebarger, and feature a Schedule C tax workshop. Janet will guide artists through the process of identifying and accounting for the many diverse income streams (from contract day jobs, to grants, awards, and sales) and business-related expenses that comprise the livelihood of many creative arts practitioners. Tax legislation is always changing, and Janet will address how those changes will affect the various situations for artists, curators, and creative producers.

A practicing artist herself, Janet has keen insights into the complexity inherent in filing taxes for creative careers. Her experience working with clients for over 20 years has also contributed to her knowledge of record-keeping strategies that can be implemented throughout the years to help streamline your process.
